Tips from Penis Ennui

Glad to hear you get excited about questions. Here's another. Heading to the East Coast in July, via North Dakota and the International Peace Garden to Canada. Anything I shouldn't miss in your home state? Quirky road side attractions? Hot spots (are there any?)? Flora and Fauna? Two dudes and two dogs on a road trip. BTW, it was great to see Lucy (you) & Ethel (Colby) in Disneyland.
U should get my COP DAD zine for 2 good North dakota stories. In the western part stop by http://www.medora.com/ and stay in the rough riders motel - or see if a log cabin is available. Super cute old west town. Go see the Medora musical if you’re into that - it’s outdoors and you might even see wild buffalo roaming around. Eastern ND is flat as fuck and the most boring drive in the world but I find it odd ly energizing because it’s like the worlds largest james turrel installation of just 3 colors - sky, green, and a road. You might find a nuclear missile silo, and the worlds largest cow, buffalo, and tower of oil cans. Also theres tons of abandoned farmhouses to explore. I get excited just telling u all this. Eastern ND is like magic because there’s NO ONE THERE and u can do anything. Think about being 700 miles from the nearest gay bar but 1 mile from a straight one with the name “BAR.” (Seriously. They don’t even name them.) Once u get to the “big” city of fargo there’s still nothing to do really except marvel at everything. If u need civilization go to the HoDo which is actually a fabulous bar/restaurant/hotel but all the locals think you’re a snob if u go there. Lunch at the plains art museum is also very good. North Fargo is where I grew up. you’ll find the remains of the yellow brick road in the old trollwood park up there where i spent all my teenage summers. The drive to minneapolis is lovely - about 3.5 hours from fargo. See the Walker Art Center and the Weisman. Minneapolis is fabulous especially in summer. I’ll actually be up in this area soon myself.
